Informal Poll Please.

This one is for you MilFolk types. When it comes to reading other MilFolk blogs do you prefer:

A) the Everything is Grand and Deployments Don't Really Suck and I Also Poop Rainbows and Fart Fairy Dust in the Face of Any & All Military Diversity! types
or
B) the Let's Get Real, This Shit Sucks Sometimes and I Might Need Heavy Sedation if I Go On Much Longer Thinking I'm Abnormal and/or a Failure For Thinking it Sucks type?

I perfer the real. I mean, yes I get it its better to be what i call a glittersh*tter because it proves you're a "strong woman" and such. But golly, as a future sailor, I get lied to enough by recruiters. I would appreciate knowing what I'm getting myself into before I find myself royally screwed up the nose. Idk. I kinda think there should be a balance between the two. Like a good balance between venting and being strong. Because in life there is both good and bad, and you have to look at both, as well as figuring out the grey areas. But thats just little miss american honey here. I'll admit I'm a wierdo. Ok, well I'll get off my little soapbox now. TTYL :)

A little bit of both. I quit reading blogs that are just woe-is-me all the freaking time. "I survived a deployment and had a good deal of fun, why can't you" is what I usually think when I hit unsubscribe.

Definitely a little bit of both. I'm all for being honest, because lets BE honest -- this lifestyle is hard. But I have definitely stopped reading blogs (like lola!) because they have been so god damned NEGATIVE the whole fucking time!! If you aren't honest, then you're in denial about this lifestyle. But I don't think there is anything wrong with WANTING to look for those rainbows and fairy dust every once in a while. If you don't -- you will drown in this military life.
