At peace.

My Grandpa passed away this morning... he went quickly and did not linger... his breathing became labored and shortly after it stopped and then he was gone. I think we are all relieved that he won't have to go slowly at hospice. He is with his beloved wife Ethel now and we can all start the healing process. You will be missed Grandpa... maybe more than you will ever know.

My condolences, honey. No matter how the departure -- and this sounds like a decent one -- it still hurts to say goodbye.

But what a good long life to remember! You were blessed.

My prayers will be with your family.

P.S. Great picture! Laughing with a big dog plopped on his lap...I bet he was a lot of fun.

I'm so sorry for your loss but grateful that he didn't linger. I lost my great-grandmother, of whom I was very close, 9 years ago & it's a loss I still feel today. The memories help get me through, just as the wonderful memories of a great man will help you through the grief. & what a contagious smile he had :o) Lots of love & prayers girl ♥

What a lucky man to have had such a loving family around him through his whole life, all the way to the end.

You're in my thoughts, chica.

What a wonderful, happy picture! that's definitely the way to remember your grandpa.

as Meghan says, that picture is the wonderful way to remember a guy with love and obviously a sense of humour! any man who lets a hunting hound sit in his lap while he opens Xmas presents, understood what was important in life.

I know you are grieving his loss, but remember to (when you can) celebrate the fact that you got to know and love this man, that you got to learn from his generosity of heart and love of family. a

Love ya, kiddo.
