She's alive!!!

Good news!

My dear little iMac is alive. She is healed up and doing great... she thanks you all for your well wishes. I get to bring her home tonight, all fresh and new.

HOORAY!

Bad news... $400 worth of repairs. Bah. And now I am phobic so I need to go get an external hard drive. Double Bah! Anyway, do any of you have recommendations? What do you do to back up your computer???

Back up? Huh? What's that? I've used a thumb drive from time to time. But not sure where it is packed now.

I shipped an external hard drive to my husband while he was in Iraq (something about 3,000 pictures). Let me look. It says it is a Seagate 100 GB. I think he had me go to OfficeMax or some such place to get it.

Good luck. And I am sooo glad to hear your computer is back up and running.

Hiyee! Glad it's back up and running. Ummm. I'm kind of in the same boat with BW, but I don't do much backup...pics mainly and I'm so paranoid they are also on two CDs and I have prints of all of them. Yes, all of them.

We do have an external hard drive. Ours is a Maxtor. I have a computer savvy friend who suggested Maxtor or Seagate.

I know, right! Backup? What's that??? I am super paranoid now so I am definately going to Best Buy this weekend to pick me up a super huge external hard drive (On orders from the Mac-repair-dude). I think I am going to get a biggun and then I can store ALL my photos and music and essential documents without fear. Phew! Let's hope we don't have to go through that again!

Thanks for your advice ladies! :)
