4,252

At least 4,252 US military personnel have died in Iraq since the March 2003 US-led invasion, according to an AFP tally based on the independent website www.icasualties.org.

4,252 families with broken hearts.
4,252 soldiers who will never grow old, never see their children grow up, never fulfil their dreams & goals.
4,252 less brave & honorable souls in this world.

This is information that people need to know. Maybe this number will wake people up. Then again maybe nothing will. God, 4,252. I don't even know what to say to that.

I have the tally on my file cabinet at work (both Iraq and Afghanistan) - and update it when needed. It's BIG - and right in your face when you walk in my office.. and it makes everyone stop for a second and think. And that's a good thing, because the other 99% of the citizens of this country have no idea. NONE. One of the assistants in the office was asking me questions today, and I had this urge to shake her and ask her why she didn't watch the news! Was she stupid? no - just uninformed and clueless. did she not care? no...she didn't know enough to care. and we've been at war for almost 8 years.
