Random question.

Okay- here is my random pre-weekend question for you:

What is the best advice you've ever gotten from a movie?

Me?
Lester Bangs, Almost Famous. "The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you're uncool."

A fantabulous movie (highly recommended) and a very true quote. I figure that in any situation, if you can't be your naturally uncool self, it ain't worth a thing. So thanks Lester Bangs (played by the ever amazing Philip Seymour Hoffman) for the poetic words and great advice.

Your turn! Oh, and have a wonderful weekend!

(And if you can't tell, I'm making my way out of Suckyville... which suddenly reminds me of Stuckeyville from maybe one of the best TV series ever. Gaw, I loved that show. The end.)

Oh, I love Lester Bangs.

A tiny bit embarrassed to admit this, but the scene from Stepmom where Ed Harris proposes to Julia Roberts - he ties a thread to her finger and says something to the effect that "there will be times when this is the only thing holding us together, but I won't let it break." Of course, he then slides a huge rock down it, but I love the sentiment and after 13 years, I have found it to be true, true, true.

Ooh! That was a good one! I don't remember that from the movie... but an awesome line for sure!

Almost Famous is such a good movie!

I really wish I were offering up something romantic or arty or extremely deep, but the first quote that popped into my head was from Dirty Harry: "A man's got to know his limitations."

Actually, the movie was Magnum Force. But Dirty Harry said it.

I think we all know my love for the Princess Bride.

"Life is pain, highness. Anyone who tells you differently is selling something."
